We all have a book in us...so they say.

It is often said that every human has a book in him or her. The life of every person, from being born to dying, goes through many phases and each phase leaves behind an indelible mark in the book of one’s life. Just as is the case with books, it is with lives; some are simple, some complex, some even more complicated.

At some point or the other, most, if not all, of us who blog have wondered how it would be to see our name on the cover of a book, a bestseller hopefully. But, as they say, to learn to swim you have to get in to the water and not just stand at the banks, so to have a best seller you have to write a book, any book to begin with. National Novel writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is an effort that pushes all the budding writers in the right direction.

NaNoWriMo kicked off in 1991 with 21 participants and six eventual winners and in 2005 they had 59,000 participants with 9769 winners. Anyone who is able to achieve the target of 50,000 words in a month’s time is a winner. It is interesting to note here that the winners to participants’ percentage dropped from 28.6% in 1999 to 16.6 % in 2005. The time to begin your novel starts on 1st November and ends on 30 November.

I came to know of this event a couple of years back, but in that year the month was half over by the time I heard of the event and it made no sense to try and achieve what many people are not able to do in a whole month. Then I just happened to forget all about it. But this year, I am going to do it. I have already registered for the event. Anyone who is interested or wants to know more about the whole NaNoWriMo can visit the official site at www.nanowrimo.org .

If you take a look at how much you have written on TBPE, it's probably quite a lot. Furthermore, there are books out there that are nothing more than a collection of articles. You may be surprised that you have already written your book or come close to it.
