Help with The Mag!

Often and again, I have talked about The Mag dot in on this blog. The Mag dot in is my attempt at starting and running an online magazine. If you ask me now, why I started it or what my intention is, or was, behind starting the magazine, I don't think I can give you any satisfactory answer.

I can only say that it is something that I wanted to do. I think it provides a place where one can experiment with a style of writing that is different from the style used for blogging. For some reason I thought it would be easy. But, now, after three issues of The Mag are out, I have had a reality check. Though the frequency of updation of The Mag is fifteen days, yet I have found it almost impossible to get the issue up in time.

Then again, It has not been all bad. Some sort of rules have been laid out and the sections and their names have been almost finalized. Here is a screen shot of what it looks like, and you can click on the image to view the magazine.

Another thing, I have realized that a magazine is almost impossible to run alone, plus that would make it more of a blog than a magazine. So, If you have some free time on your hands and you are interested in being a part of something like this, you can send an email to editor@themag.in.

If you don't have that much time, you can still be a part of it by contributing every now and then. The sections we have, as of now, are :

Laugh it up - Jokes and anecdotes to make you smile. If you have heard a good joke lately, or if you have had something funny happen to you that you would like to share, you can send that in.

Quotes to Quote - The name says it all. All of us have heard some great quotes that we often quote in our discussions and debates. If you have one, just send it in.

Human Revolution - This is a section for which we are looking for a change of name. Since the one we are using has been borrowed from a organisation known as Soka Gakkai International. This section is essentially about the matters of the heart, spirit and soul. So, if you have had any experiences that resulted in a change of outlook towards life, send them right in. You can also suggest a name for this section.

Fiction - This section is open to short stories and poems. If you have written one, and are looking for a place to have them published, you could give The Mag a shot.

Current Affairs - The name says it all.

Politics and Sports are two topics that I want to cover in The Mag as well, but for now I have not been able to. So, if you think you can write on these topics, you can send write ups on these too. All of these things, along with any comments or suggestions, can be sent to editor@the mag.in

The only condition about submitting a story or an article is that it should be original and unpublished. If you have a blog, you can put it on your blog once it has been published on The Mag. Thank you, and looking forward to hear from you.
