BYBS : Happy Endings

(To join Blog Your Blessings Sunday, and get your name on the blogroll, click on the banner above and follow the simple instructions.)

Boy meets girl. Boy falls in love with the girl. Girl falls in love with the boy. They live happily ever after.

Or,

Boy has his eyes set on a job. Boy works hard. Boy gets the job. Boy is happy, and so is the boss.

These are two scenarios that, I feel, most people can relate to. After all finding true love, and a good job, is high on everyone's agenda. And what would we not do to have things perfect in those two departments?

Yet, most people have a hard time finding true love, or a satisfying job (just two of the many things that most of us want, or are looking for). The reason, I think, is that though all of us want these things, many of us are not ready for them. Our initial failures give us an insight into what we lack, and what we can do to avoid failure the next time.

And when we do those things, we succeed in our endeavors. This ensures that when we meet the right person, or when we find a job that we really like, we are prepared to do whatever it takes to hold on to these things.

Failures and Imperfections are thus a great blessing because they show us how much we really want to succeed and to be perfect!

To end, I will borrow a line from a Hindi movie : "In life, just like in the movies, the ending is always happy...and if it is not, it is not the ending...there is more to come."

What a positive attitude! You know the phrase, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade."?????? Enjoy that lemonade!

I like this very much. We can make use of everything, even the stuff that doesn't work out.

When the student is ready, the teacher appears.

I like that quote very much and will keep it with me. Thanks.

God bless.

That's a great quote! I often tell my stepdaughters that they shouldn't necessarilly look for "Mr. Perfect"... but Mr. Interesting... and work towards mutual perfection.

This is the story of us all. Get the job we want, it does not make us happy. Get the person of our dreams, and they have feet of clay. We just have to learn to enjoy there here and now. You are a wise man, Neo. It took me 50-odd years to discover it.
