Best post of 2006 : The votes are in!

I hope everyone had a great 2006 and that a better 2007 awaits each and every one of us. Year endings are great things, I feel, because they give us an opportunity to stop, look back, realize our mistakes, appreciate our achievements and plan our future. Every year we make some resolutions; some last and the others get broken in the month of January itself. But that should not stop us from making the resolutions because something that is well intended is half done, and half done is better than nothing, and hopefully some day we will do what we resolve. Till then let's keep making resolutions!

I had a poll in my last post and the results are out. The "Blog your Blessings" Post, with 43.8 % votes, is the best post of 2006 on this blog. Since, I missed the BYB Sunday post this week, I am reposting the old post here. We already have a good number of bloggers on the BYB wagon, but more are always welcome and if you missed it last time, here is the post again:

A couple of posts back, I floated the idea of a Sunday where Bloggers blogged about the good things in life; things that bring a smile on one's face, even in the most desperate situations. There are moments and people like these around us everywhere, all we have to do is look carefully.

For some reason, I did not get a lot of reponse to that. So I decided to go ahead with the name Blog Your Blessings , because that was the only name that got a vote and, I think, I like it too. You dont need to do a whole post, you can if you like, but just a few lines that spread the good vibes, will be good enough.

I tried to work on a few images to be used, to begin with, but my lack of ability in this aspect shows in the image that I have put up on this post. So, if anyone wants to make some better buttons and banners, they are welcome and I will put them up on my blog. A blogroll was also suggested, which I thought could wait till we have a sufficient number of people doing the BYB Sunday.

I hope we get a lot of people interested in this effort, because this world is a beautiful place and we neeed to appreciate it, and every once in a while we should take our time out to thank the Maker for giving us a chance to live this life. So every Sunday, Blog Your Blessings and spread the good word and a smile or many smiles.

Thank you everyone for commenting and voting in the poll and also for participating in the contest which had no winner and only one participant who was Cybercelt. I have sent the credits to everyone, if anyone has not received them, kindly leave a comment so that I can rectify the mistake as soon as possible.

Once again Wishing everyone a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007
