BYBS : One blog too many!

(To join Blog Your Blessings Sunday, and get your name on the blogroll, click on the banner above and follow the simple instructions.)

Time truly flies. Another week has gone by, and it is time for another BYB Sunday post.

When I started this blog, I had no idea about blogging, and what all was involved in the process of blogging. I just wanted a place where I could write down some of my thoughts. I had no illusions about my writing ability; I knew I was an average writer, yet I still wanted to put my writing out there to get a few comments - mostly from friends.

Somewhere down the years ( I have been blogging for almost three years now), I began to take blogging, and hence my writing, a little more seriously. The result was that I started another blog and an e-zine. Now, for the last couple of months, I have not been able to devote as much time to either writing or blogging, and that usually leaves me with a bad feeling. At times, I have even thought about bidding adieu to at least one of the blogs but, fortunately, I have managed to keep them going.

Today, as I write this, I am really glad that I have not closed any of my blogs. The reason is simple : Today, my blogs are the only reason I write!

I still harbour no illusions. I know that if I stop blogging, no one is going to lose anything. The only person who will lose anything is me. I will have no more reason to write and, eventually, I will end up not doing the one thing I really enjoy.

Therefore, I am glad today that I have one blog too many and I hope that I can keep it like this for as long as possible.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead!

What you've shared here 'resonates' mightily with my own thoughts this morning. I began blogging eleven months ago (after attending a Writers Retreat in Taos, New Mexico) with encouragement and assistance from a friend I met there ... knowing absolutely nothing about blogging. I've always written for an audience of one ... to clarify my thoughts and refine my own understanding. I have no illusions about my writing abilities, but the interactive dimension of putting thoughts 'out there' where others have 'access' (and occasionally respond) ... in addition to reading what others share on their blogs ... adds a dimension to my writing I'd not experienced before. Certainly I'm glad you haven't closed THIS blog for reasons of my own ;--)
Hugs and blessings,

Neo,
Keep those blogs going! They are a great way to focus thoughts about writing and writing. And your thoughts are always well worth reading. God bless, friend!

Now that is a blessing and because you have this meme, YOU are a blessing to those of us that participate regularly. I checked earlier and was disappointed that there was no post from you -- came home from church to finish where I left off at the Hot Dog Truck blog and saw you had left a comment so I came straight here , excited to see you posting again. Blessings for your coming week in abundance!

Just keep on blogging! I am not much of a writer but I use my blog kinda like a diary.

I respectfully disagree, I do stop by AT LEAST once per week... and yes, your absence is noted... and if it went from a brief absence to outright "radio silence" as they say, it would be cause for concern...

Either way, keep on writing... you are read... and appreciated!

There can never be one blog too many as long as you're enjoying the writing! =)
