Insurance is a good thing!

For anyone who starts earning, investing some part of the income is very important.

Investment can take several forms, and one of these forms is insurance. Though, strictly speaking, insurance is not a form of investment, but a way by which one prepares himself, and his loved ones, for the worst case scenario.

These days one can get an insurance for almost anything. Ranging from life, health, property... you name it and there is an insurance for it. There are times when we feel that insurance is a nuisance. For example, getting an car insurance is legally binding in most countries, and if your insurance has expired, more likely than not, you will get a ticket.

At these times one feels that it is my car, and if I haven't taken an insurance for it, it is my problem. If something happens I will pay for it. But, when that something does happen, one can not be thankful enough for the insurance.

Some time back, a friend of mine had a major accident. His car collided with another car, and both cars were severely damaged. Since it was no one's fault, damages were paid by neither side. But, still the car had to be repaired, and that involved a major expenditure. But the friend's Car Insurance company settled the claims and most of the money spent by him was reimbursed.

When someone is involved in an accident, he is already under a lot of stress, and it is only good that under the circumstance he has one less thing to worry about.

What is your take on insurance?

1K Tuesday!

When I started blogging, I had no idea that one could make money off blogging and in fact earlier there were not many ways to make money off your blog. But lately there has been an increase in the number of ways that one can use to make money of his or her blog.

One such way is Pay Per Post. Though initially, I hear, the site met with some resistance from various quarters but it seems that by following a disclosure policy and making it obligatory for the members to do the same, they have overcome much of that resistance and the site is doing well now. I have been a member of Pay per post for some time but I have only managed to do a couple of post for them. Still, I think that if you choose your posts carefully, PPP is not only a good way to earn some money through blog advertising but also is an effective way to provide you with something to write about on the days when you are not feeling particularly creative.

If you are not a member of PPP as yet, now is a good time because starting this Tuesday and continuing till the end of this month they are starting a whole new promotional scheme called the 1k Tuesday. Under this scheme they intend to offer at least one opportunity worth $ 1000 every Tuesday of the month and they guarantee that these opportunities would not be segmented.

It sure does seem like a good scheme, at least by the sound of it.

Pre-paid Phone

I remember when, only a few years ago, having a cell phone was considered a luxury. One not only had to pay for calling out but also had to pay for receiving a call. Over the years, because of improvement in technologies and competition among the service providers, owning a cell phone has become easier. As someone said, “The phone will become like a watch - every house will have one, and every individual will have one too.”

These days the customer is the king, and he has a variety of plans that he can choose from for his cell phone bill. I have been using a
prepaid phone from the time I decided to buy a cell phone. Every plan has its advantages and disadvantages, and it is for us as the user to decide what suits us best.

I have found that the prepaid option suits me well. The most important aspect of a prepaid plan is the flexibility and the control one haves on the amount that one spends on the cell phone bill. And since one is under no contract, one is not stuck with the plan. If at any time one feels that the particular plan is not suited to his needs, he can switch to another one that is tailored to his needs. Also, one does not need to pay any rental charges; you pay mostly for what you use.

I feel, after using a prepaid plan for almost three years now, that pre paid plans are quite suitable for a general phone user, who does not have any special requirements.

What plan do you use?
