Happy New Year 2009

Happy New Year to all readers of The Blue Panther Experience.

I am not sure if you would want to know where and how I spent My New Year's Eve, but I am going to tell you anyways.

I spent it in a bus. It was very cold and adding to my cup of woes was the fact that in my hurry to leave I had picked a sweater that was still wet from the washing. How was I feeling? I will let your imagination decide that, because words, at least decent ones, fail me when I start to think about how I felt.

But, I am glad it was the last day of 2008. I reached home at 4 AM in the morning, and went to bed. I woke up to 2009 in a warm and a comfortable bed, so I think 2009 is going to be a good year.

But then again, no year is good, or bad for that matter. It is what you do in the year that decides whether the year is going to be a good one or not. And one of the things I do every year is make a list of new year resolutions. How long I manage to keep them is another matter altogether, but I do make the list every year.

This year the list got pretty long. I guess it is because of some new things I learned this year, and some bad habits that I might have caught over the last few years. Whatever the reason might be, the fact is that the list got pretty long, and I am not going to burden you with it.

I am although going to talk about a couple of resolutions with respect to my blogging. I was looking up the number of posts I wrote in 2007 and 2008. The number in 2008 was almost half the number in 2007. Not only that, after a brief run through the posts, I felt that the quality of posts in 2008 had definitely gone down. Look from whatever perspective, a decline in both quality and quantity can not be a good thing. Some things need to be changed over here.

So, I decided one of my resolutions is going to be : Blog more, write better!

What are your blogging resolutions for 2009?

Every Day is a Special Day

Have you noticed how most of us feel special on days like New Year's Eve, Holiday's, Birthday's, anniversaries etc. What is it about these days that makes us feel so special. We tend to forget our troubles - and any problems that we might be having - and simply enjoy the spirit of the day. On some of these days it is the spirit of others around us that infects us,but there are days that have a special significance only for us, as an individual, and these days tend to make us feel better.

So, I think, the trick does not lie in the day, but in our perception of it. We prepare ourself for the day, and make preparations for it - on the physical level as well as the mental and the spiritual level. We choose not to let any problem bother us on the day, and just have a good day.

Working on that theory, I feel, that if we believe that every day is a special one, we can live a satisfying life - a life where we are more contented and happy, and a life where are not always complaining about the situation that we are in. So, if we are able to make every day special, we will not have to wait for that special day.

But till such time we are able to do that, I guess we will have to keep waiting for those special days in our lives. And if you have begin to wonder why I am going on and on about special days, let me put a stop to your wondering. Today is a special day for me, because many years ago, on this day, I was born!
